LARRAITZ UGARTEMENDIA OTXOA DE ALAIZA

ABOUT THE ARTIST

Born in Irún on January 16, 1983. At the age of 17, she entered the Faculty of Fine
Arts in Leioa, where she received an Erasmus Socrates scholarship in 2004 and
spent a year in Italy, in Perugia, delving into painting and photography. She later
graduated in Fine Arts from EHU in Leioa. She has spent the following years
painting and has completed numerous works in her studio, establishing an
academy before entering the teaching profession. She is currently a civil servant
in education for the Basque Government and teaches plastic arts in high school
and compulsory secondary education. She also produces weekly art chronicles for
Antxeta Irratia. Despite this, she has never stopped painting. Currently, she lives
in Oiartzun, in a farmhouse where she has her studio. Surrounded by nature,
which serves as her source of inspiration, she is currently working on the project
«Loving the Details of the Forests.»

¿QUÉ ES EN REALIDAD LA BELLEZA

MUJER Y BELLEZA. Al intentar unir ambas, se entrelazan inevitablemente el sufrimiento, la desesperanza y la carga. Luchamos contra el campo de belleza que se
nos impone a las mujeres, una lucha ardua y constante.

Grandes, pequeñas, delgadas, corpulentas, bellas o feas.

¿ES POSIBLE SER LIBRE?

Si hoy se desea vestir de belleza, será necesario ensuciarse en los lodos de hoy. Ya lo dijo un autor vasco hace tiempo.

Hoy, en cambio, tenemos el arte de hablar. Escuchemos las palabras de los colores y veamos si hay algo que se pueda expresar.
